The Lantern

When Hurricane Melissa tore through St. Elizabeth, the Williams family lost power, food, and half their roof in one night.Twelve-year-old Jada sat in the dark holding the only lantern left working in the house.

The Last Dry Box

During Hurricane Melissa, Mr. Thompson stood in knee-deep water inside his living room, holding the last dry box of his daughter’s school books above his head.
Everything else was gone.

When the storm passed, he didn’t know where to start.
